One Punch Man: Wanpanman (TV Series 2015–2019) Poster

Absolutely think one punch man is excellent

Honestly when I first heard of this anime, it was shown as a "ok" meme gif on Facebook and made me fall in love with the show as well as its main characters. I like how Saitama is this laid back hero but at the same time, does his best to be badass and save the world. I even like his robot companion Genos, he's also likeable too and actually kind of sweet for a tough ass looking hero himself. As well as that, he cares about Saitama and that really stands out with the show!

Love the humour, the characters and its on going storyline. I'm even looking forward to season 2 and hopefully it's good as its original first season!

I'm tired of this overrated hash

Another anime, another hash.

There is nothing about this show or guy I find interesting. It's just another redundant anime with nothing to show.

People often complain about being overpowered yet they are okay with this hash? I don't get it.

Good enough

Warning: Spoilers

What's the main charm of this anime is that it doesn't take it's hero seriously. Actually, he's an average guy who turned himself into a seriously strong super hero, though no one recognise him as such. He's in fact kind of an idiot, in a good way, and his easy going way of life kind of makes him likable and, most importantly, funny. He acts not as a super hero, but just like a real person. Now the story is okay, with many action scenes, just enough blood scenes and with interesting plot. The bad guys are not many as to confuse, but they are enough. However, somehow towards the end it kind of gets tiring. But, overall, a very funny anime packed with action.

So far so good

It is really entertaining and funny but it really doesn't have any story. I feel like every episode could be standalone. Animation is great and charachters are funny. And ending theme song is amazing.

Wrote after season 2

Wait 4 years after season 1. Season 2 finished but story not the end. It's a comedy cartoon though the message is quite clear and true. Being senior position is not necessary meant to be strong. Luck and connection is the factor, be with yourself never make you climb up the ladder. I think season 1 is way more interesting than 2. Season 2 is not bad but less funnier. Rate 6 for s2 and 9 for s1

One Punch

Warning: Spoilers

I am normally not into over the top violent animes but One Punch Man was actully pretty good and fun to watch.

This show is about a young man called Saitama who had been train for 3 years which caused him to go bald. So he becomes the hero known as One Punch Man, just with one punch he can solve everything. You might all be thinking is that all.....No! he eventually gets frustrated and he wants to find a foe which is a challenge for him.

We are introduced to characters such as Genos, some sensei and Speed'o sound sonic. Some are heroes, some are villians. All of the characters are likeable except for that annoying, bratty Toronado girl, hated her she was probably the only reason why an episode got ruined.

However, despite that annoying little b*tch majority of the anime was good.

If you are a hardcore anime fan and you are looking for a good action anime I would highly recomand One Punch Man.

Absolutely Hysterical!

One of the best superhero satires ever made, One Punch Man is, basically, the story of a guy who wills himself to become the most powerful hero of all time. I've only seen the first season, and I hope to see more. One Punch spends most of his time bored - as few if any can survive one of his blows. My second favorite character is the short tempered green haired telekinetic heroine, Tornado. This really has to be watched because it is so damn funny.

An entertaining anime digging into the MANY clichés of superhero storytelling.

One Punch Man is almost a one joke show, but it works at continuing to mock, ridicule and even lovably homage a genre that's become such a cultural staple in today's entertainment-consuming society it's a bit of a surprise that this anime stood out from the crowd to get people's attention.

One Punch Man, also known as Saitama, is a bored superhero who keeps defeating/killing enemies with just... one punch. Saitama is tired of the villains losing this battle, and around him he encounters a cyborg with a 'sombre-backstory' who wants to train under his guidance. It's a pretty crazy show and even though it does parody superheroes a lot, it's got no shortage of over-the-top action to entertain you alongside its self-deprecating takes on 'all-encompassing' superhero sagas.

Simple, but funny. One Punch Man is an enjoyable treat of a show.

Great

Fights, fights, and more fights... and all end with our hero destroying the enemy with just one punch.

"One Punch Man", the anime adaptation of the manga of the same name, delivers a constant barrage of laughs and action in a faithful adaptation.

Saitama is a hero. But not your average hero, like Son Goku, that needs 30 episodes to destroy the big bad after having gone through another 30 episodes of fights with the henchmen. No. Saitama wins his fights with just one punch. We don't really know how he got so strong (the explanation of his training regime to Genos is hilarious), but he is. So strong that the constant apparition of new and more dangerous enemies are never a threat. Even if you keep waiting for a real 'enemy' to appear.

With this introduction it is pretty easy to see that "One Punch Man" plays the "Dragon Ball" or "Naruto" card but with a twist, poking fun to all the constant fights in those anime. And it does a great job of it, with a constant tongue-in-cheek approach to your hero anime: from the 'heroes association' to the hero's rankings to Saitama's fights, "One Punch Man" is in constant 'funny' mode. Some jokes will be better understood by fans of action anime, but all the deadpan jokes can be enjoyed by everyone. It also helps that the fights, when they come, are perfectly paced and with amazing effects. The humor delivers, but the action too and the threats are always 'believable'.

But in what "One Punch Man" excels is in characterization. Saitama is your hero after all the threats have disappeared. He is a hero that does his job because it is his job, but doesn't really find a challenge in it anymore. Genos is the perfect secondary, the one that would be the hero in your regular show. And all the others, like Mumen Rider or Terrible Tornado, just add to the series. The voice work is amazing (in its Japanese version, which is the one I saw) and bring the characters to life. The only problem I found is that I enjoyed more the manga than the anime (it also had the surprise factor that this adaptation doesn't (can't) have).

Do you like anime? And action anime? Or action? If you do, this is for you. And if you don't, this is for you too. "One Punch Man" is amazing.

You won't regret it.

Hilarious and interesting

Note that I have only seen season 1.

This show presents an amazing level of humor and animation that kept me invested for a very long time. My only complaint was that season 1 should have ended after episode 9, or episodes 10-12 should have been combined into a single episode. The final three episodes became far too serious, and they truly felt for the most part that they belonged as part of a completely different show. But with that said, the first 9 episodes comprise one of my favorite anime shows of all time.

If you're tired of cringy overly-politicized Hollywood garbage, dive into this

I'm not an anime watcher yet this show blew me away so don't hold back just because it may be foreign to you. This is your chance to enjoy Japanese humor and action at it's finest. Something new and refreshing!

Strong points: Animation and action scenes Humor Music Creativity Everything!

Weak points: Some scenes feel like slow filler, lots of confusing talking, but it always pays off (also I'm watching it with subtitles, watching a dubbed version may be easier to grasp) Not much else!

If you're not watching this show you're wasting your life, stop wasting your life and start watching One-Punch Man. NOTICE: I'm an absolute hater who doesn't like anything. If I'm recommending this, then you know it's special.

Quality in the Gods

A simple yet overlooked idea this show and its premise is truly fantastic. Focusing on the most powerful hero in the world who's rising up the ranks of the superhero world whilst trying to retain his personality there's so much fun to be had. Great action sequences and the perfect blend of comedy/drama/action all on beat to a fantastic score this show is truly brilliant. Refreshing the genre and ironically strong in every way there's many appealing factors to this show. Covering a lot of content in brisk episode times this quick series is superb, watch it!

Saitama..

This was one of the first "modern" anime I ever witnessed, I technically didn't watch it until later because at that time I wasn't into anime and I thought it was really captivating but years later when I watched AOT I had completely changed my perspective. I mean as a kid I did watch an anime but it was super old and wasn't your typical anime that most people usually think about when they think about an anime. So even though I watched it already I'm back rewatching cuz I felt like there had to be a review for something as unique and popular as One Punch Man.

One Punch Man is a delightful twist and surprise on the superhero genre as a whole . It takes the problems and the weaknesses of the superhero genre and turns it into something creative and hilarious. Its basically like a parody of the strengths of the superhero genre and what makes the story and the characters so interesting. Its satirical, its overexaggerated, and filled with funny dialogue. One Punch Man is a comedy anime but not just your typical and cliché type though. It has a very good story that consistently gets better as time goes on introducing new characters and building up the world. In all its greatness from the uniqueness to it's comedy it does have problems such as being repetitive and a bit predictable after a while.

The characters are solid. The side characters aren't deep or too creative and much of the time the focus is around Saitma and his apprentice Genos. There is nothing else I could say about the characters that are either very good or bad.

The animation is absolutely fantastic and with no CGI whatsoever which is crazy. The fluidity of the action scenes, the designs of the characters, and the richness of the landscapes makes the world of One Punch Man truly come alive. The music is also thrilling and captivating matching the tone and vibes of the series knowing when to hit certain instruments at the right scenes.

One Punch Man is a wonderful anime. This review is for the first season. The 2nd season is something that I really dont wanna get into.

Memorable: No Rewatchable: Maybe..

Top notch.

This show is something like we've never seen before. What an insane plot, like how do they come up with such new and interesting plots? Earlier I was sceptical about watching this show because the description did not seem riveting enough, like a hero with no back story. But once I started, I was hooked from the very first episode. Right from a great plot, to intense action, to some stunning animation and most importantly humour and fabulous voice acting, this show provides quality entertainment. Definitely must not miss this show 'One punch man'. 👊

Self Aware and Extremely Enjoyable

One Punch Man is an anime that doesn't take itself seriously and is more of a comedic action series than a character driven drama. Not to say the characters aren't great however. If there's one thing special about this show, it's the world building, I love the world that they've created probably as much as some of the characters. With comedy that actually feels funny in a subtle way, and action that seems extremely important despite the main protagonist killing everything in one punch, this show really manages to keep you invested. One Punch Man is great and I can't wait to see where they go with it for season 3.

One Punch Insanity

Warning: Spoilers

I just finished watching One Punch Man. This show can only be described with these two words: Freaking Insane. I literally fell from a sold one to the final episode that I may have taken drugs I never knew existed. Even though this show was absolutely the definition of insanity, chaos and destruction I have to say this show also had me hooked and loving every single moment of insanity. I wish this show never came out because this character can literally by this point defeat any other character. All in all, if I have to read the show this craziness gets a 9/10 ha ha

An overhyped show, with impressive animation.

Of all the anime's I havr watched, this is probally the most overhypes series i have ever seen. The animation may be fantastic, but i was bored out of my mind. The plot is kinda weird. It doesn't really go anywhere until the last 4 episodes. I was just BEGGING it to end. I personally feel like My Hero Academia dis the whole superhero thing better. They wrre far more interesring characters, with great backstorys and motivation. With One Punch Man, I felt NOTHING for him. I will only recommens this show as the visuals are amazing, but PLEASE watch my hero.

One of the better Anime to come around the last decade

Though not particularly deep, the show has its moments and does a brilliant job of alleviating the constipated drudgery commonly found in action anime. Saitama, the "One Punch Man" is a hero so strong that he kills things in one punch which makes for some funny situations. For instance, since he kills things so fast, no one ever actually sees him killing things which keeps him from climbing up the ladder in the hero business.

Though we have seen powerful and bored characters in the past, it is usually the signature of a anti-hero or a antagonist but in this case, its the source of comedy to the show. He is so absurdity strong, that he get depressed when something dies in 1 hit. All he wants is some credit for his work and someone that can fight back and pose a challenge and that is basically the what the show is about.

One Punch Man pokes fun of other anime like DBZ and all the plethora of fighting anime who have useless dialog and endless "power ups" to fill in screen time as if it were fun to watch. In this one, when people monologue, its over the top and meant to be funny. When people power up or transform or whatever, it makes no difference and they get crushed the same as anyone else, which is equally funny. The show moves faster than most fighting anime which helps it stay fun to watch though season 2 felt much slower than season 1.

In a lot of ways, Saitama is the comical version of Superman. The point of the character is not the struggle against evil but rather the struggle to stay good in a world full of violence, bigots, greed mongers, posers and dimwits. Its a good show and definitely worth a look if you like action anime or just comedy.

Hilarious Parody of the super hero genre

In a world were every super hero and villain monologues about their tragic back story. Mad scientist try to take over the world. Monsters aim to be the terror of such and such city.

You have one guy that's too lazy to care. Saitama, the guy that became a hero for fun then got bored of it when he reached his peak at -you guessed it!- defeating the monster of the day with just one punch.

One Punch is a parody of the genre. It shows you how ridiculous all these tropes are by playing them up to eleven then knocking them out with... well, one punch!

It's very well written, the characters keep it grounded though their earnestness and never give up attitude, the art is beautiful and it's HILARIOUS all without being cheesy or turning to the camera and winking because meta. Something you don't see nowadays.

If you love the super hero genre than you'll love this show. Yes it pokes fun of the tropes but from the point of view of someone that also loves them and very clever about the whole thing. WATCH IT!

Season 1

I've probably seen season 1 over 5 times now and it never gets old ( it is probably the most rewatch able show ever because of the short length and crazy stupid action ). It's simply incredible. The sheer amount of crazy characters is amazing. The action is absolutely mind blowing and is just so exciting! I really love the main idea behind the show, of how a hero is too strong...this is something that hasn't ever been seen(as far as I know) and it really helps to create a hilarious and fun new take on superheroes. I just had to give season one a 10/10, there isn't a single episode that I would rate below 8/10 which is baffling. I love how fast paced the episodes are, they don't waste any time throwing you knee deal into the new original plot of the each episode. It just saddens me that season 2 doesn't quite live up to the high expectations it had, but still amazing first season!

A Gem

Initially I had found the anime to be mediocre but I kept going back for re-watch and starting enjoying it a lot, now I can't get enough of Saitama (the main protagonist), he is so much fun. I am on my third re watch of the series. Whenever I need something light and hilarious i end up watching a episode.

Below is my original 6/10 review - I have been hearing of One Punch Man on social media for quite some time, there has been a lot of hype surrounding it, finally got to see the anime at last, got to say initially I was confused, was it a parody on other anime's or an genuine original take, either way I was disappointed. I felt it is mediocre at best, the story-line was lacking emotions and the gags were few and far in between. Yes the concept is cool, a superhero who is so powerful he defeats bad guys with a single punch, he is bored with all the easy fights and so was I. Also, the way the story kills cities and thousands of lives without any remorse from even the Heroes just didn't add up for me, I just couldn't get attached to these characters. The animation itself is good, just I didn't enjoy the storytelling.
